Preserving the integrity of your wine during shipping is a responsibility we take very seriously at SommSelect and unfortunately, sometimes it's just too hot to ship!
Every Monday, our team will evaluate the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service to determine if wine can ship safely to your state. When temperatures reach 85 degrees, Climate Controlled Ground shipping cannot guarantee to keep your wine stable in transit. If it's not safe to ship, we will hold until the following Monday, when we will re-evaluate. If your state is under an Extreme Heat Hold, you'll be notified both at checkout and via email. You will receive tracking information for your wine when it is safe to ship.
Here are the current states on Extreme Heat Hold:
- Florida
- Georgia
- Louisana
- North Carolina
- Oklahoma
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Texas*
- Kansas
- Indiana
- Virginia
- Nevada
- Washington DC
- Pennsylvania
- Idaho
We appreciate your patience in this matter and we plan to ship your wine as soon as it is safe to do so!
*For Texas customers who are serviced by our specialty carrier Premium Wine Delivery (PWD), because these orders are shipped temperature-controlled to your doorstep we will continue to ship these orders regardless of the heat hold. Please click here to find out if you are serviced by PWD.
